Custom 3D Commissions
Have an idea you want turned into a 3D print? I'd love to make it come to life!
I offer limited flat-rate commission slots where you’re buying design time and materials up-front, without any surprise costs.
What you pay for includes: the time it takes for design, optimization and revisions of the 3D model, prototype and final 3D printing, clean-up, material cost, and assembly as well as shipping.
I’ll use the time you choose to design and print the best result possible with as much quantity or size I can make within that budget, depending on the scope of your project.
How It Works
1. Pick a design slot (1 hour/2 hour/3 hours). If you aren't sure which one to pick, don't worry! Skip ahead to step two and I will help you assess the scope of the project.
2. Send me your idea with reference images to info@katerinadicker.com. Please include sizes/dimensions, preferred quantity, colors, and anything else I'd need to know to make you a custom sculpture out of plastic! Even if it seems like too much information, tell me everything you can about what you're expecting!
3. Once I have all the information needed and you have paid for a design slot, I will design a 3D model and print a prototype, then send pictures to get your feedback, revise if necessary, and prepare for the final prints once I have your approval.
4. Then, I will final print the object(s), clean off the supports, finishing details as necessary, carefully package and ship 2 day express with tracking, and you'll receive the final piece quickly and safely.
Commission Slots
1-Hour Design Slot — $50
Simple models/shapes or mini figurines without fine detail in one or two colors.
2-Hour Design Slot — $100
Models requiring more detail, colors up to four, finishing (hand-painted details) and/or larger prints or a higher quantity
3-Hour Design Slot — $150
Models requiring extensive detail, engineering, colors up to four, finishing (hand-painted details) and/or larger prints or a higher quantity. Recommended for character pieces, display models, or anything with lots of detail, multiple components, and pieces.
Custom Slot
Please feel free to email me if you’re unsure what to choose or to discuss your project! I can always create a custom slot for you if your project has a large scope or we can break it up into pieces by purchasing multiple design time slots from me.
Slots are limited! I am a one-woman operation and I can only do so many commissions per month :)
A Few Things to Know
• Design time is capped at the slot you purchase
• Complex projects may require multiple slots
• Printing, clean-up, material cost, and assembly are included in your price, as well as shipping
• The size you want printed affects the amount of details shown. Think of it like a tattoo - if you want a small tattoo, there are less details that will be visible. Smaller 3D prints are better for less detailed objects. The larger the object, the more details can be visible.
• Once your project has been completed, I can always print more quantity for you (in different colors or the same) and you do NOT pay for the design work again. I will keep your 3D model on file. You can email me if you want more and I'll add a listing to my shop.
